It was the best day of the week, which had started with torrential rainfall over Easter and had another wet weekend to follow.
John Moore (Clacton) and Nick Elsom (Maylands) won dinner for two at The Shard in London with 44pts, three clear of Stephen Large and Paul Dunning of Barnham Broom whose prize was a medieval banquet for two.
Third prize (a three-course meal for two at Ask) went to Edward Griffiths and Tom Everett (Stoke-by-Nayland) while Jerry Callow and Glenn Sibley of Colne Valley won a three-course meal for two at Cafe Rouge for fourth. Both those pairs had 40pts, beating Bill Sawings and Tony Noakes (Maylands) on countback.
The best team with a host player was Martyn Gardner and Nick Claire of Colchester with 38pts.
The nearest the pin prizes went to Nick Elsom, James Hill, Chris Savage and John Moore.
